Cedar Bluff Racquet Club is more than a tennis facility, but a communal space where sport and family coincide. We strive to nurture every athlete to their fullest potential— we offer one on one instruction, group instruction, practice space, seasonal clinics, and a supportive network of athletes of all ages and skill levels to ensure growth and competition. With the most qualified staff and Tennis Pro’s in Knoxville, we are eager to challenge, train, instruct, and build relationships around the art of tennis, competition, and sportsmanship.
Since 1979, CBRC has held rank as one of the South’s premier tennis facilities, with 10 spacious indoor courts, complete with vaulted ceilings and full lighting, 5 outdoor hard courts, and 9 outdoor clay courts- all of which have full outdoor lighting, audience seating, and are meticulously kept by CBRC staff.
CBRC was incorporated in 1978 and opened to the public in 1979 by the following partners: Julian V. Link, Dr. Joseph Garcia, Mack Sprouse, and Jim Carroll. In 1979, Julia purchased Jim Carrol’s stock, Marck Sprouse divided his shares with his sons Corry and Randall Sprouse. Randy Sprouse was the 1st CBRC Club Manager, Joe Garcia Jr. was the 1st Tennis Pro. Howard Blum arrived in Knoxville April 1975. He bought stock after being encouraged by Julian Link, and took over management by 1981. In 2004, the partnership was Purchased by Tennis Partners, Inc and continued running as Cedar Bluff Racquet Club.
