Rusty is the Director of Tennis at CBRC. Rusty comes back to CBRC after five years at Smoky Mountain Tennis Academy. At SMTA he was head tennis professional; he organized women’s USA leagues and worked with juniors who were top in the nation. He coached three USA women’s teams to State. Prior to working at CBRC, he was a top junior who trained in the CBRC junior programs, he was a top junior player, and attended East Tennessee State University on a tennis scholarship. He transferred to the University of Tennessee, where he was a redshirt team member. He graduated cum laude from Tennessee Wesleyan College. During college, he was the assistant tennis professional at Fox Den Country Club for four years. Rusty has been teaching tennis for thirteen years and he holds a certificate of Pro 1 by the USPTA.Rusty’s private hourly teaching rate is $48.00.
Jeff Brainard Jeff Brainard

Jeff is a graduate of Ferris State University’s Professional Tennis Management Program, a USPTA P2 certified pro, USTA Sports Science Level 5 Certified and a Certified Racquet Technician. Jeff moved to Knoxville from Bethlehem, PA where he was the director of Racquet Sports at Saucon Valley Country Club, one of the largest Country Clubs on the east coast. He has taught several nationally ranked juniors and college players. Jeff’s private hourly teaching rate is $48.00
Mario Dorado Mario Dorado

Mario moved to the States, from his native Bolivia, in 1980. He was the Junior College State Champion, at #1 flight, at Northwest College in Wyoming (1980.) That same year, he qualified for the National Junior College Tournament in Ocala, Fl. Moving on to Idaho State University with a tennis scholarship, he became the assistant coach to the men’s and women’s teams (1983-87.) As a tennis professional at the Country Club of Paducah, KY (1987-88) he coached his ladies’ 2.5 and 3.0 Volvo teams (now USA) to State titles. That same 3.0 team was coached to a national championship. Mario has worked at Indian River plantation in Stuart, Fl. (1989-90), French Lick Springs Resort, in French Lick, IN (1990-92.) He was the Head Pro at the Swan Lake Tennis Complex, in Clarksville TN. (1992-98) Mario was a High School District Tennis Coach of the Year in 1994 and in 2004. He has level Pro 1 USPTA and USPTR certifications, and was also USRSA certified for 10 years. Mario has an Assistant degree in General Science, a Bachelor in Business Administration, and a Bachelor in Education. Mario’s private hourly teaching rate is $46.00
Dana Forsyth Dana Forsyth

Dana is a Knoxville native and a USPTA Level 1 instructor with thirty-eight years of teaching experience. She taught at Tyson Park for nineteen years and was the Head Pro at Holston Hills Country Club for nineteen years. Many of the USA League teams she has coached have advanced to the District and Sectional level, and many of her juniors have received rankings and college scholarships. Three of her children were nationally ranked junior players. She was Knoxville Women’s Singles Champion six times and ranked #1 in Tennessee. In Women’s 35’s and Women’s 40’s divisions she was ranked #1 in Tennessee and #1 in the Southern section in singles and doubles. Other awards include being named Tennessee Tennis Pro of the Year and inducted into Knoxville’s Sports Hall of Fame. Dana’s private hourly teaching rate is $46.00
John Gompert John Gompert

John has been a tennis instructor at Kiawah Island Resort since 1985 and became head pro in 1992. His tennis experience includes earning All-American honors during his 2 years at New Mexico Institute and All-Conference honors at Georgia Southern University. He won the Southern Senior Closed Clay Court 25 and over singles title in 1990 and the 30 and over doubles title in 1993. He also coached his sister, Kate Gompert, from 1985 to 1988. Kate reached a ranking of 18th in the world in 1987 with wins over Chris Evert, Pam Shriver and Hana Mandlikova. John’s private hourly teaching rate is $48.00
David Price David Price

David began his teaching career in high school, and began working at CBRC while attending the University of Tennessee from 1986 to 1991. David received a B.S. degree in Business Administration. After graduation, David was a teaching professional at Knoxville Racquet Club for 7 years where he directed the junior development programs. He has the highest testing certification of Pro 1 by the USPTA and USPTR organizations and has worked with some of the state’s best players as a USTA Area Training Center Coach. David has played tournament tennis throughout the state of Tennessee and the South, where he has been ranked as high as #2 in Tennessee Men’s Open Doubles. David’s private hourly teaching rate is $44.00.
Louie Royal Louie Royal

Louie is a Knoxville native who grew up on the tennis courts. Both of his parents are tennis professionals and his father is a former men’s tennis coach at the University of Tennessee. Louie was state, sectionally, and nationally ranked as a junior player. He played college tennis at Carson Newman and Cleveland State. Until recently, he was the men’s and women’s coach at Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee. Louie is extremely experienced as a tennis teaching professional. He lives in Athens with his wife, Lori, and 2 children, Trey and Kyla. Louie’s private hourly teaching rate is $46.00.
David Wilson David Wilson

David comes from Pembroke Pines, Florida, where he was the Co-Director of Adams Flynn Tennis Academy. His duties there included traveling with many ITF juniors and ATP touring pros (both men and women). Prior to that, David worked with Martin Zumpft at the Nick Bolletieri Tennis Academy where he was a Junior Group Head Coach. David was a scholarship player at Old Dominion University...four years after graduation he became the Assistant Coach at Old Dominion. David’s teaching rate is $48.00 per hour.
